Social media can seem overwhelming, difficult to measure and manage, and that usually leads to businesses tabling it until they feel better equipped to deal with it.  It doesn’t have to be like that, though!

Numbers.  Numbers are a huge part of how businesses make decisions about social media.  Here’s the thing:  it’s not about numbers.

It’s not about numbers!

It’s about relationships.  Community.  Engagement.  Activity.  All of those things are the qualities businesses need to be measuring when it comes to social media.  They aren’t readily measured by static metrics, but it’s easy to see when they’re making positive progress.

A business can have thousands upon thousands of fans and that can still be worth nothing.  Hey, Facebook fans can even be bought!  (Do a quick Google search for “buy Facebook fans” and see what comes up).  Cheaper by the dozen!  Just not at all effective.

So what IS effective?  Building relationships.  Getting to know the people who “like” your business’s pages.  Letting them get to know the people behind your brand, and interacting with them.  Those relationships are the foundation of a successful social media presence.

My philosophy?  You and I need to work together to accomplish your goals.  If I’m at the helm of your page, we’ll be in contact frequently via email, bouncing ideas off of one another, suggesting content, and giving feedback on how things are going.  Together, we’ll shape your business’s page so that it reflects your values and your brand.

The clients I choose to work with (and who choose me!) are businesses and nonprofits that I can honestly back 100% in a public forum.  If I couldn’t truly support my clients’ products and missions, things would fall to pieces pretty quickly.  People can smell forced, disingenuous relationships and content online from a mile away.  My whole-hearted support and belief in my clients – and theirs, in me – is what makes this work!
